Hardwick Hall

The main focus of this post is not the rebuilt Hardwick Hall but the building that was stripped and left to ruin. The beautiful buildings, owned by Bess of Hardwick, close friend of Elizabeth I, are vast and spacious clearly showcasing the wealth and plentiful quantities of pretty much anything. The updated house and ruins are surrounded by sculpted hillsides that look like paintings. The hall is also part of the national trust so if you have a membership you can get in for free. People typically spend a few hours at the Hall: an hour to explore the ruins, an hour to explore the gardens and a couple hours exploring the rest of the houses and land.
